Job Description
You will be expected to:
Undertake structural design and analysis using design software across a broad range of structural types and using various international standards
Deliver engineering solutions and reporting results to managers and clients
Assist in the management of the design process that may include other related design disciplines/teams
Coordinate design as part of an internal team and liaise with external associated professionals and our clients
Undertake and support the leadership and delivery of assignments, maximising fee income
Assist and support the development and maintenance of a high level of technical capability to deliver the service offerings targeted
Support with the organisation and management of the technical staff, acting as a line manager as required, supporting staff recruitment, training, CPD and implementation of ‘Best Practice’ and procedures
Adopt procedures for standardisation and peer review to ensure consistency and excellence in the service delivery of the Company’s technical work product
Uphold the Company Health & Safety and Environment Policies across all activities
Qualifications
To be successful, you will have the following qualifications and be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge in some of the following areas:
A degree qualified Civil Engineer, working towards Chartership with Engineers Australia
Working knowledge of structural processes and design, with a particular emphasis on data interpretation, design & analysis, construction and advanced numerical modelling
Structural design experience including bridges, foundations, retaining structures, marine structures, jetties etc.
Working knowledge of Australian Standards and other national and international industry standards, contracts, methodologies and procedures
Experience of computer analysis of structures and design of structural elements in common materials i.e. steel, concrete, composite
Experience should include large scale (c. $200m+), high profile infrastructure projects
Knowledge and experience in structural analysis/finite element software such as:
Midas, SPACE GASS or similar finite element/structural analysis software
Wallap, Plaxis or similar quay wall analysis software
Excellent Microsoft Office abilities (particularly Excel)
